Description

A delicious and easy recipe for slow cooker chicken tacos, perfect for any night of the week!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 ounce mild taco seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 10 ounces mild diced tomatoes and green chilies
  • 4 ounces diced green chiles
  • 15 ounces salsa con queso
  • street taco size flour tortillas
  • shredded lettuce
  • sour cream
  • diced tomatoes
  • chopped cilantro

Instructions

  1. Lightly spray the inside of a 5 to 6 quart slow cooker with nonstick spray.
  2. Lay the boneless skinless chicken breasts in the bottom of the prepared slow cooker.
  3. Sprinkle the taco seasoning, kosher salt and cracked black pepper over the chicken breasts.
  4. Pour the 10-ounce can of diced tomatoes and chiles and the 4-ounce can of green chiles over the seasoned chicken breasts.
  5. Cook on high for 4 hours.
  6. Once the chicken has finished cooking, use 2 forks to shred the chicken breasts.
  7. Pour the container of salsa con queso over the top of the chicken and stir to thoroughly combine.
  8. Serve in the flour tortillas, and garnish with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, chopped cilantro, and sour cream.

Notes

  • For homemade taco seasoning, combine chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.
