Ingredients

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat butter until creamy. Gradually add granulated sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in sour cream until well combined.
  5. Slowly mix in dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. For the topping: Mix brown sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle half into the batter before adding the remaining batter on top, followed by the rest of the topping.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool before slicing.
