Description

A delicious dessert featuring fresh blackberries baked into a creamy custard.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh blackberries
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter for greasing the pan

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Butter a 9-inch pie dish and set it aside.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk the eggs until frothy. Add sugar, flour, salt, milk, cream, and vanilla. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Evenly spread the blackberries in the buttered dish. Gently pour the batter over the berries.
  4. Bake for 35–40 minutes, until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Cool slightly, dust with powdered sugar, and serve warm or chilled.
